Photo Gallery - 03rd Jabli-Garkhal-Kasauli Trek

The day started early for many of us on 27th of Sept'09

The game begins with Antakhshari on board...

The bus of 38 CATS was divided into 2 teams, Ganga and Jamna;
who fought it out for every song, every word, every possibility of a word ;-)

Sumptuous Breakfast for 38 rumbling bellies at Jabli

As we set foot on the trail from Jabli...
the first hike itself tested the stamina of many a CAT... meow :)

Matching paw-to-paw, CATS leaving Jabli behind to venture away from the Kalka-Shimla track...

and deeper into the trail...

Laal chharri maidaan kharri..
well.. not quite..
through the fields of tomatoes, chillies and corn..

any excuse to rest the paws a little :P

but there was still miles to go..

and then we got way-laid due to the latest rain water harvest practices
put in by the local villagers...
no regrets though as we came across this lovely rivulet along the trail...

we decided to rest a while here as one of our four groups was way behind us all.

some chose to dive closer into the water...

others were happy with a little hydra therapy :)

Nanhe Munhe bachhe teri mutthi mein kya hai..
Muthi mein hai taqdeer humari
hum ne qismat ko bas mein kiya hai :)

Mother nature providing a natural and soothing cure
to the insect bite this kitten of ours suffered on the trail..

CATS enjoying a tete-a-tete whilst enjoying the cool breeze..

soon we all got together and collectively moved towards the path which takes us towards Garkhal...

Our Graceful CAT Kamal, who took the honour of being the eldest on the trek at 61yrs.

The final hike to Garkhal proved to be a little too steep
for some tired legs.. but there was no way out!

Finally... We all reached Garkhall... MEOW :)

CATS enjoying a cuppa-cha and a glass of refreshing nimbu-pani
at the end of the first leg of our journey to Kasauli...

Girls will always be Girls I guess..
CAT Amanat tucked a little flower into my hair band and CAT Sunaina

demanded to have one too... all in the bazaar of Garkhal :)

The resourceful CATS walking backwards to give their tired legs a little relief
from the taxing and steep hike from Garkhal to Kasauli...

but not without some more flowery fun along the way..
Every nook and cranny and wasteland of Kasauli

is blooming with flowers, primarily Dahlias in stunning hues...

The cast iron water hydrant installed in 1902...
YIPPIE.. we were in Kasauli

OK.. but where is lunch CAT Pari seems to be asking!!!

This pack of CATS was so famished that we did not have the energy to take
even a single photograph of the lovely lunch we were served at The Kasauli Club!

This photograph was taken after we had patted our bellies with satisfaction and
licked the last of the lunch from our whiskers ;-)

CATS chilling out at the terrace of Kasauli Club after a lovely lunch...

and oodles of fun with our CATTY family...
just look at the content faces of this pair of a father and a daughter
whilst enjoying coffee at Sanwara...
Could there have been a better way to celebrate Daughter's Day??
