Warm up in the lovely lawns of CGA, prior to the run...

About 25 CATS stretched their muscles together.... We had a run to finish you see ;-)

Smiling Faces of 5kms CATS at the Flag Off point...

Smiles started wearing off just 500 meters into the run... MEOW :)

Our STAR Delhi Marathon Runner and inspiration for the run,
CAT Monica on her way....

Our determined CAT Gopica was the sole partner of CAT Monica in the 10km segment....

CAT Harpreet nearly half way through his 5kms run...
though not sure how did this guy manage to run back in such a short time!!

Chandigarh Run brought forward the diversity amungst the localites...

I had trouble catching up with our benchmark CAT DV...

whilst waiting for 'our lambe route ki gaariyan'.... ;-)

...a little later CAT Monica romped home amidst loud meowing :)

First time runner in 10kms, CAT Gopika wearing a T-Shirt which said VICIOUS... reaching home a short while later.. into the arms of the waiting CATS...

Second set of victorious and delighted CATS at the finishing line....

Despite running 5kms with the rest of us, our dear Bhatia family offered refreshments to all the CATS at their residence... We were served fresh lime water, delicious tea, mouth watering dates straight from Qatar, dry fruits and fresh fruits.. and I forgot to mention the cake!!

The breakfast session was followed by the photos viewing session on LCD... we had a wonderful time looking through the photos, with expert comments flying left right and centre... the day could not have ended on a more perfect note...

Thank you all for coming together to make this Sunday morning, yet another memorable event for CATS.

Pack of CATS packed away in the elevator of our hosts, The Alchemist Hospital

For a change, CATS observed the pin-drop silence when the session started ;-)

Dr Meeta introduced the session by explaining the importance of Basic Life Support (BLS) Training....

Audio Visual presentation coupled with dummies and an animated interactive session helped us understand the simple life saving techniques....

Meeta and Dr Jain, both dedicated to raising the awareness of First Aid training in India, formed an excellent team....

explaining every process with a hands-on demonstration...

...patiently answering each query from the curious CATS, no matter how silly it might have sounded!

Demonstration of a seriously injured person being moved without a stretcher....

Quickly followed by practice session whereby each CAT was required to behave as if involved in an unfortunate accident...

CATS soon graduated from dummies to 'live' actor victims to practice :)

We finished an extremely informative morning with a review session, followed by a working lunch at the hospital canteen. Oh, and I forgot to mention that all 35 of us who sacrificed our Sunday morning to attend this First Aid in Crisis Training Session are certified BLS First Aid Trainees now :)

CATS First Aid in Crisis Training

Re-cap of your own body position before you can successfully administer Basic Life Support (BLS) technique, which could save someone’s life in crisis.

CATS are absolutely grateful to Dr Jain and her colleague Dr Meeta for having conducted such a wonderful training for us in basic First -Aid. We look forward to having another session with them shortly which would cover other trekking/biking/hiking related injuries CATS tend to suffer from whilst exploring the Mother Nature.

It felt cruel to have to get up before the crack of dawn on a Sunday morning...

Even the dogs had not woken up for goodness sake!!!!

but there we were quequed up in 5 groups complete with our respective Group Leaders...
All 55 of us....

We started off soon on the 'normal' tarmac trek alongside our Sukhna Lake for the first leg of our nature trail... Many of the first timers were disappointed because they could have done this at a much more 'humane' hours later on in the day rather than having to register even before you could rub your eyes!

Sukhna started becoming more and more charming by the minute, with the sun rays frolicking on its ripples playfully creating a golden threaded carpet for the ducks to swim through...

Slowly CATS of all shaped and sizes started gathering pace along Sukhna... Easily identifiable from the rest of the joggers/walkers because of the water bottle every CAT was carrying!

We go prepared you see :)

This young lot had come for the first time with CATS but seem to be having fun....

Aaaah... Saathi Haath Barraana...

Whilst some decided to take alternate walkways to complete the first leg....

and with the parents amungst the CATS exploring the flora and fauna with their children by holding an impromptu fun filled walking discussion...

Rest had to run to reach the regulator end and catch up with the rest of the Catty Gang!

Meet the youngest CAT of the day; our barely 5years old CAT Jyotika piggyriding on her mother CAT Jyotsna's back... MEOW :)

I bow to the spirit of CATS... over and over again....

CATS took a brief break at the regulator end to gather our groups, wits and breaths ;-)

and this is where the fun begins....

would you believe that this point is less than 500mtrs from the main tarmac of Sukhna?

Curiousity killed many a CAT whilst hopping across the jungle in pursuit of sambhars and spotted deer...

CATS spotted something else of interest just when we hit the path...

How can you really blame us for getting late for breakfast when we get way-laid by such naturally beautiful environs?!!

The first lot to reach back at the cafetaria for breakfast...

The rest followed soon to enjoy a delightful breakfast of stuffed chana-kulcha....

Your Sukhna from the 'other' end..... as you probably would have never seen before..
