Day 01 - 12th October 8.00am Departure for Sai Ropa from Hotel Chandigarh Beckons
Day 01 - 12th October Arrival Evening at the Forest Rest House at Sai Ropa after a six hour drive from Chandigarh. Freshen up followed by Orientation: By Mr. Ankit Sood through a DVD slide movie titled ‘Voices and Choices’ which would be projected over an Lcd projector. The participants can buy maps, books after that for getting more information on this newest national park in India. Possibility of Night Trekking activity, depending upon the member’s decision and energy levels. Evening will be sleeping in dormitories and rooms. Sai Ropa: 1300 meters
Day 02 - 13th October Early breakfast: Today we start the trek into the GHNP. The participants would be required to take sleeping bags and water along with their packed lunch. Proceed by vehicles to Goshaini (1500 m), 9 km easy walk to Rolla (2100 m). Packed Lunch served with hot tea at the entrance of the national park where one would sit by the Tirthan river. Activity at Rolla Camp would be Rock Climbing and Star Gazing. Overnight camping in tents at Rolla. Bonfire Dinner.
Day03 - 14th October Rolla to Khorli Poi (3000 meters) This is an 8 km moderate trek uphill to Khorli Poi which takes us through an amazingly thick jungle full of monals, deers and wild animals. Overnight camping in tents at Khorli Poi.
Day04 - 15th October Walk back from Khorli Poi to Rolla
Day05 - 16th October Return from Rolla to Goshaini – Nature walk en route alongside Teerthan river. Today we would start early morning for a sprint down to road ahead. Packed Lunch enroute. The participants would be served hot tea with snacks on arrival at Sai Ropa . Evening activity would consist of river crossing or Rapelling depending on the energy levels of the group. Evening Dinner and farewell party by the SAHARA staff.
Day 06 - 17th October Early morning departure after breakfast for Chandigarh.
Day 06 - 17th October Expected arrival back in Chandigarh is evening, with pit stops for lunch/tea breaks en route from Sai Ropa.
* Please be advised that detailed timings can not be provided. Since this is the trek for the members, the physical agility, mood and activities undertaken by the members would command the time taken at each leg of the trek.
